This is a uniqueantique German swinger mantel clock The clock is on a statue of Diana from the early 1900s. The clock arm swings as a pendulum from a balance point on the arm of the statue. The height is 13". Gebr Junghans Uhrenfabrik started in business in 1861 in the Black Forest. It was established by Erhard Junghans with Franz Xaver. In 1870 Arthur Junghans, son of the founder took over the company. By 1903 Junghans was the largest clock-maker in the world. They were well-known for producing a wide variety of clocks, especially the mantle clocks called "swingers". This classic Art Nouveau clock is definitely a conversation piece when in a home. SOLD

This is an absolutely stunning antique "Art Nouveau wall clock This is a most beautiful "Art Nouveau" French Faiance wall clock. Faiance is a particular type of porcelain manufacturing, typified by Delft or Majolica and is the English term to describe fine tin-glazed pottery on a near white body. This then making it perfect for painting on its surface. Little of this style is seen outside museums and this is a perfect example of it at its finest in a well running clock from the late 1800s.
