This magnificent antique French Louis XVI style clock circa 1870, by Mougin, is a masterful French antique clock and for those who want serious beauty. AD Mougin was a famous clock maker in Paris from the mid eighteenth century forward. Mougin was one of the better clock makers of the period and possessed two gold medals from the Paris exhibitions. This exceptional old French mantle clock is gilded bronze with glass inserts on the sides and front allowing for a visible mechanism. This antique mantle clock is in exceptional antique condition and true beauty. The clock is mounted on white marble, with wreath and bow atop. English antique Wedgewood porcelain cased mantle clock from the British United Clock Co. This antique mantle clock has a 30 hour rear wind time only movement, it dates to about 1910 and is a detailed green and white ceramic case, with a pretty porcelain dial and beveled glass. The height is 6 inches tall. This makes a lovely clock for a Wedgewood collector and the words Wedgewood are impressed on the bottom of the case. SOLD
This is a wonderful miniature antique French mantel clock, with gilded bronze and a porcelain finish all around the clock drum. It is a highly unique and decorative clock from the mid to late 1800s and in overall excellent original condition. The porcelain image is of a romantic scene in the fashion of the Romantic era. This is a charming French 8 day wind time and strike French crystal regulator mantel clock which was retailed by Shreve, Crump & Low, Boston, c 1893. This mantle clock was probably made by Marti as he made many of the clocks labeled by retailers of the day. Most of the original gold finish is intact with the usual minor wear coming with age that is usual for antique mantle clocks that are 120 years old, including a very small nick at the top of the dial. It is the original pendulum and the height is 10.5 inches high. The lovely porcelain with gilded dial is perfect. Engraved on the top of the clock, which also accurately dates it, is an inscription to "Father Mundy From His Boys". A charming and elegant French antique mantle clock. SOLD
This is a lovely oval French antique mantle clock by one of the best know names in France at the time. This clock probably also saw itself rebranded as Tiffany and many other high end retailer names as Vincenti made many of their clocks. In the case of this antique mantel clock, the retailer was Tilden and Thurber of Providence, R.I.. This is a four glass crystal regulator, more rare due to oval glass, made approximately in the late 1800s to just turn of the last century. It is an 8 day wind time and strike in a very pretty oval glass case. The hands and pendulum are original and the height is 8.75 inches. Price: SOLD
